In October this year, I stepped out of my comfort zone and into my Shaman.
An opportunity to reconnect with nature and find some answers to life's big questions was on offer. So, I jumped into my Warrior Goddess and fronted up with 5 other brave Questers for some life changing guidance through Mother Gaia.
I felt stuck, motivationally crippled and at a loss for direction in life so I asked the Universe/Great Spirit/Goddess for help. The answer came directly to my FB feed and there was no way I wasn't going to be there, everything fell into place with synchronistic perfection. This was meant to be!
WHAT IS A VISION QUEST?
In the words of my Vision Protectors, it is a nature-based ancient rite of passage used for thousands of years by Indigenous cultures for spiritual growth and expansion. This was a solo bush experience in which you spend four days and nights immersed in the beauty and healing energy of nature and Mother Earth. It provides you with an opportunity to be still; still enough to hear the voice that is calling you onto your visionary path.
You are alone in the wild in a small quest circle (3m) with no distractions, fasting from all things familiar except water. You come face to face with yourself, and get to know more deeply who you are (and the difference between the misguided monkey mind and truth connected thought/vision!)
WHAT WAS IT LIKE?
Not surprisingly, it was really f__king challenging! The flies, mosquitos and oppressive heat of the bush however, were nothing compared to what your mind does to you.
Day 1 - was a bit of a WTF have I done? day. Shit just got very real and YES!, I was hungry :)
Day 2 - I let go of more sadness than I thought was possible, it was an emotional day witnessed by two curious Goannas who stopped in to check me out and witness my falling apart.
Day 3 - I'm half way there, no longer hungry, getting my 'back to nature' on (butt arse naked and covered in dirt) and a profound awakening to task by a local Wedge Tail Eagle.
Day 4 - Boo Yah! the mind, broken, subdued and exhausted, finally let go and allowed a life changing revelation to wash over me and 40 something years of 'Who am I and what am I here for?' blissfully melted away.
Day 5 - I triumphed! I can not describe the incredible feeling of walking out of the bush at first light on day 5, to be reunited with my tribe and be held in such love and support.
DID I GET MY VISION?
Vision can come in many forms. My vision was a visit from the Spirit realm from an ancient Shaman Medicine Man who is now my teacher. It was also the piecing together of events/moments in my life that did not previously have meaning.
I still find it incredible that I spent so many years with the answers inside me but was unable to access them because our earth bound human lives are so busy and full of disconnect. It took 4 days sitting alone in the bush with no distractions (other than nature) to discover what Great Spirit had been trying to show me most of my life. DOH!
To my fellow questers, I love you and you will always be in my heart and forever my tribe.
Rain and Steve, my Vision Protectors, thank you, thank you, thank you for your love and support. I am so grateful to you for opening up the door and gently guiding me to this place where I stand in my authenticity, strength and love.
I love you and you will always be in my heart and forever be my tribe.

Wow! If you are finding life is throwing you some curve-balls right now then you are not alone in this. Its an epidemic!!
It seems every person I connect with lately is either going through a personal tragedy or witnessing someone close struggling.
Just when you thought you had everything sorted, life just up and tips your neat little pile all over the floor!
Well, I can't express it any clearer than "its time to deal with our shit people!"
Whats happening to us isn't random or unlucky, its the Universe showing us its time to deal with stuff we may have been ignoring or have been blissfully unaware of, -till now!
On some level, we have called it in, some primal part of our being is calling us to let go of stuff we no longer need and for some of us, this stuff has been pushed so far down we forgot we even had it. This stuff or negative energy, just lurks deep inside of us and doesn't go away unless we consciously release it.
Why would we want to do that?
Our emotional and spiritual health is just as important as our physical health and I believe each system affects our whole self, right?
So.., if we could remove something potentially toxic to our whole self, in safety and comfort and feel totally amazing afterwards, wouldn't we jump at the opportunity?
When you are ready to let go of your stuff, Id love to help you.
I offer a FREE HEALING SESSION to anyone who is ready to let go of what is causing pain and disruption and holding them back in life.
Contact me today and I will tell you exactly how I can help you sort your shit! :)

Wings of hope languish
from lack of use.
When wings dissipate and weaken,
life begins to lose its value.
Every cell in your body is created
to rise to challenges.
Your life is meant to confront
everything that holds you captive.
Don't sit at the bottom of the well,
not caring about salvation.
Listen to the voice within calling you.
Reach for eminence
beyond your own maturity!
Can you trust that life is just an experience and that everything you are experiencing is absolutely perfect for you? When nothing seems to be going in your favour and you feel angry and you look for someone else to blame, can you accept that YOU have chosen for this to happen? Everything happens to us for a reason, good or not so. When wonderful things happen to us, we never question why, we just enjoy it. When we are faced with difficult times we naturally look for a way out but what if we actually looked for a way in? Life is about learning right? Learning to love, learning to live and learning to just be.
What if when things turn to shit, we explored the experience, the fear pit, just for a look around to see why this thing happened?
What if we discovered the message or lesson we need to learn, thanked this experience for the healing and then let it go?
The old 'keep doing what you've always done and you will keep getting what you've always got!' Change is everything. All of our life we will flow from good times into bad then back into good, just as sure as the sun rises every day sets every night. What if I told you its possible to ride the downward trending changes with more ease simply by embracing them and letting go of the need to fear them? You know they keep coming back if you dont deal with them right?
So this is what I do.
I gently and lovingly support and guide people to the dark recesses inside themselves. Together we hunt down the nasties that lurk inside and if you are ready to, we unravel them, thank them and release them. Once you have recognised a fear or a negative energy that you or someone else may have placed in you and understand why its there, you have the power to let it go and free yourself from that fear.
You become empowered!
Imagine how that would feel :)

Our lives are deeply and intimately entwined with nature. Even if we are unaware, we are still connected. In fact we are nature, we cannot be anything else.
Ancient civilisations lived by nature, created the first calendars using the solar system and lived by Earths cycles. Nomadic tribes journeyed with the seasons and survived by understanding the cycles of nature. We use nature to know what day it is, when to sleep, when and what what we eat, what we wear and Im going to stop here cos this could go on a bit :)
This weekend the moon is full early on Sunday 22nd (Eastern Australia) and it is in the star sign of Sagittarius which is a great time to expand on what we may have started two weeks ago with the new moon. Moon in Sag, Sun into Gemini, this full moon is about expressing ourselves and our desires, letting go of what we have been keeping inside. I will build a sacred fire, sing or play some music, enjoy a free spirited dance under the moonlight and maybe a goblet of organic red wine. I will honour the completion of the moons cycle from new to full and myself for all I have achieved in this time.
We exist in nature, nature flows in cycles, from the cycles of our Earth, the planets and stars that move around our Sun, to the cycles our own bodies experience. So, my point is, in sync with it or not, nature is such an integral part of us. Personally, Im finding the more I connect with natures cycles, honour them and live my life around them, the happier, healthier and more balanced I become. Most women would already know that our menstrual cycle is perfectly designed to be in sync with the cycle of the Moon. Ive read a few explanations as to why but I like to think that we bleed on the Dark or New Moon because its a good time for inner work and release, letting go of the old to make way for the new. How perfect is it to ovulate around the Full Moon when the sexual energy is high and its light enough for a bit of fun outside in nature :) Howl...
Check this blog for some great info http://www.moonsong.com.au/the-spiritual-practice-of-menstruation/
So however you choose to honour yourself and the cycles that connect us to nature, do it with passion and intent.

Rituals are a feature of all known human societies and according to Catherine Bell, "the performance of ritual creates a theatrical-like frame around the activities, symbols and events that shape participant's experience and cognitive ordering of the world, simplifying the chaos of life and imposing a more or less coherent system of categories of meaning onto it." (Ritual: Perspectives and Dimensions. (1997) New York: Oxford University Press. pp.156–7)
Coherence, connection and simplification of life. Imagine that :)
A Ceremony or a Ritual?, Im not sure there is much difference? Maybe a Ceremony is more a celebration marking an occasion when it happens and a Ritual is more a performance honouring an event that has a regular occurrence? Or maybe it depends on a whole lot more.
Which ever you choose, I believe there is significant emotional and spiritual value in both.
Its about awareness, gratitude, connection and honouring, -four of my favourite words.
Ceremonious occasions bring people, communities and even countries together to acknowledge and celebrate. My family celebrates at Christmas each year and even though we celebrate family and not the birth of JC it is probably a Ritual because we do it each year at the same time and the elements are largely the same :) A Baby Naming is beautiful for many reasons and each one I perform is unique in its make up of special elements which, Im saying, makes it a Ceremony. Your thoughts?

Hello and welcome to my first Blog for my new website www.oceansofloveandlife.com.
I want to tell you a little about my journey to here.
It is so perfect that the moon is full today as I feel I have completed my own cycle of growth and want to show the world how bright and shiny I have become. This journey into my own Self Empowerment has spanned many years and many lessons. It has grown through deep frustration, self doubt, chronic illness, depression, sadness, anger and just about every other fear based place you can visit. Today I look back on my life and feel such a deep gratitude for everything and everyone that has shown up on this path.
It is my heart based belief that what we experience in our lives is exactly what we need to experience BUT that does not mean we dont have a choice in HOW we experience these life lessons. It took me a while( and a whole lot of ouch) to truly understand this.
I have been shown the way to re-tune my thoughts, actions and words to align with my heart and higher purpose. I now know my calling is sharing the wisdom and tools shown to me to create Abundance, Joy and Love.
Thank you fear for teaching me love.
I am so blessed.
